Writing
Diversity and Inclusion works on many different levels and has many different benefits. From higher employee wellness, increased innovation in companies, to simply fewer sick days. It also increased societal cohesion, improves institutional structures, and removes social injustice. It is the secret ingredient to a multitude of improvements, yet it remains often invisible or unclear. I write to uncover the areas which are in need of change and hope to give philosophical and practical frameworks that drive positive development.

PhD Research
My PhD regards Philosophical and Sociological research about diversity and cultural cloning, and
the effects of W.E. Dubois’ concept of double consciousness in organizations and corporates. It focuses on how diversity in a work environment is designed and how it affects those involved. It aims to showcase the relationship between identity and diversity, and how diversity politics could conduct a negative consciousness for people with an immigrant background. However, I want to show that this consciousness could also be changed in something positive.

Non-profit / Foundation
2021 has been the start of something that's very dear to me: a foundation, Stichting Onderwijs & Arbeid (website coming soon), that I run together with my mother, who is also doing a Diversity focused PhD. We focus on delivering awareness and understanding about Diversity and Inclusion challenges within the education and business sector, and work towards a Diversity Ombuds Program.
